Netservices is a company from Spain which coordinates medical services internationally for travelers, through contracted providers, working for their insurance in order for them to obtain cashless service and claims processing. Their mission is to be the first medical provider network for travel insurance.

Usage

Weba is a startup company of WendelBasile GbR which is specialized primarily in the construction and trade industries. The client wanted to have an umbrella brand architecture for Weba which will have various sections such as Webastones, Webatrade, Webawood, Webafood etc. They stated at the beginning of the identity program that they want to use the Webastones sub-brand as the startup brand of Weba.

The Idea Behind the Brandmark

The business area of Webastones is covering any kind of end product that is made of stones. This includes both industrial goods, tonnage of rough stones, as well as hand-made quality products for the consumer such as stone carvings etc. The idea behind the mark was to describe what the company does in an abstract way by showing the process from the stone production stage to the end product service.

Natural Stone Production (from bottom to top / in a natural way / granite, limestone, sandstone, quartz etc.), Installation of the Product (such as templating, renovation, design etc. — from top to surface — implementation area)

So why didn’t I design the brandmark with three arrows instead of using only one arrow in the negative space of the letter W? Because showing a downwards arrow directly to the customer would give a negative impression at first glance. Besides, the letter W has a big potential to describe the whole brand with its own anatomy and to show the arrow in the negative space of the letter W is also a plus for the brand voice.

I designed a kind of neo-grotesque slab lettering for Webastones. Because slab is highly compatible for a brand that provides service in the stone industry. And also some companies supply stone in slabs. OK, that was not the reason. Here are some visuals of the lettering.

Finding the Visual Language / Corporate Typography & Brand Voice

We used Dino dos Santos’s beautiful Prelo Slab (Medium) and Prelo (Light) fonts as corporate fonts for Webastones. The motto ‘rocks for you’ was the inspiration of the brand language. I suggested to deploy the ‘… for you’ message to the whole identity by using it on overall brand core elements as a system like this:

Their target market is predominantly small business / agriculture looking for accountants who add value to their services by doing more than simple compliance work and also understand that for these clients business, family, and community are closely interrelated.

The main goal was creating a calm, professional, strong brand face with a depth and breath of my clients knowledge and experience, rather than a narrow tax or compliance focus, and conveying that it is the first place to come to when their clients have an issue with their business and asset, regardless of whether it is family or financial.

— Custom Lettering / Designing the Wordmark

Taskent Mimari Tasarım (Taskent Architectural Design) is a boutique architecture firm currently located in Sakarya, Turkey. They wanted to have a custom wordmark logo design to extend their comprehension of simplicity with their new visual identity. The new wordmark is based on the anatomy of the letter ‘T’. The “mimari tasarım / architectural design” part has been used seperately to strengthen the brands’ personality. The slogan part is also a treatment of H&FJ’s beautiful Archer font. Sample usage

Galerie Faruk is a store located in Hanau since 1997 which sells exclusive home decoration products and oriental carpets. They are going to move their store to another place in the city and wanted to have a complete new luxurious and elegant look. Their old logotype is based on the URW++’s legendary font Davida and a crown symbol. We’ve created a new custom script hand-lettering to give Galerie Faruk an original, elegant and classy look. And we’ve also designed a new lettering for their new slogan “HEIMDEKOR”. We’re working on a custom font for Galerie Faruk based on the letterforms of HEIMDEKOR.

Logo design and identity project for Culinary Zen which is a website that features video and article content showing how to prepare easy and tasty meals that anyone can follow. The website is currently in development but there will be a food and wine blog and recipes for people to share and download.
